Seminar "Takeaways"
- Radiographic diagnosis is only as accurate as the quality of the x-rays taken.
- Every radiographic examination that a chiropractor performs must have a written, full-sentence narrative x-ray report in the patient record. This is the standard of care in radiographic reporting.
- The standard of care in radiographic diagnosis and reporting is that if a chiropractor reads his own patient x-rays, he or she will be held liable for the accuracy of the radiographic diagnosis just as a radiologist would be.
- In order to be accurate in radiographic diagnosis, the chiropractor must routinely practice a flexible yet consistent search pattern when viewing patient x-rays.
- In chiropractic radiographic diagnosis and reporting, the chiropractor must be able to "find" the abnormalities on their patient's x-rays. They may then utilize their chiropractic radiologist colleagues for radiographic diagnosis and decision making.
